Transferring Domain Names And
Twitter Accounts
New York, N.Y./December 8, 2010 ---
On
December 3, 2010, Hon. Leonard D. Wexler, U.S.D.C.,
E.D.N.Y., issued a decision in favor of Connell Foley LLP
client Long Island MacArthur
Airport
in its effort to obtain transfer of
<macarthurairport.com>, <islipairport.com>,
<islipmacarthurairport.com> and thirteen other domain names,
as well as three Twitter accounts, each of which was
comprised of trademarks associated with the Airport.
A copy of the transcript decision is available
here; the preliminary injunction is

on the dispute is available

In October 2010,
Long Island
MacArthur
Airport
won a Uniform Domain Name Dispute Procedure arbitration
decision involving many of the same domains.
Following that arbitration decision, the respondent
filed the action before Judge Wexler, and the filing of that
action had the effect of preventing domain name transfers
from taking place until the federal court had the
opportunity to rule on the matter.
Connell
Foley lawyers handling the matter included
Peter J. Pizzi,
Noel P. Humphreys,
Monica Seth, and Tara
Touloumis.
Pizzi, Humphreys and Seth are members of the firm’s
