Lyons Presents on Collective Bargaining
Negotiations and Strategies
Roseland, NJ, November 16, 2009 ----
M. Trevor Lyons, an attorney with Connell
Foley’s
Labor and Employment Law practice group
will present at a seminar sponsored by the National
Business Institute (NBI) on “Law
of Labor Negotiations and the Collective Bargaining
Process” scheduled for Monday,
December 7, 2009 in Princeton, NJ and Tuesday,
December 8, 2009 in Saddle Brook, NJ from 9:00 a.m.
to 4:00 p.m. for both dates.
Although the Employer Free Choice Act ("EFCA") did
not become law in 2009, under increased pressure
from organized labor a modified version of EFCA may
be enacted in the near future. If passed,
labor unions are likely to play a renewed role in
labor management relations. Mr. Lyons will offer a
comprehensive overview of the historical development
of the National Labor Relations Act and related
legislation, and also provide concrete guidance on
the negotiations process and tips
for overall strategy for the bargaining table.
Throughout his career, Lyons has focused his
practice in the area of labor and employment law.
He provides diligent representation on behalf of
management for a broad array of labor and employment
related claims, including allegations of
discrimination, employment contract disputes,
restrictive covenants, wrongful terminations and
whistleblower complaints. Lyons is a member of the
New Jersey State Bar Association’s Labor and
Employment Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution
sections.
