Since joining Connell Foley in 2003,
Owen McCarthy has represented
insurance companies and their
clients in tort-based liability
claims and contractual claims in the
Superior Court of New Jersey and in
various arbitration forums. He has
tried over forty cases to verdict
and has arbitrated numerous matters
relating to the availability of
insurance coverage. In 2008 Mr.
McCarthy was designated by The Board
of Trial Attorney Certification of
the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a
Certified Civil Trial Attorney. Mr.
McCarthy is also a Certified
Mediator designated by the State of
New Jersey and routinely acts as a
mediator of private, contractual
uninsured and underinsured motorist
coverage cases.
Mr.
McCarthy served as Judicial Law
Clerk to the Honorable Peter F.
Boggia, J.S.C. in the Superior Court
of New Jersey, Bergen Vicinage. Mr.
McCarthy served as a Councilman and
Deputy Mayor for the Borough of Fair
Lawn, Bergen County, and as a
Commissioner and Treasurer for the
Bergen County Housing Authority. He
currently serves as a member of the
Manasquan Tourism Commission.
During law
school, Mr. McCarthy was a member of
the Seton Hall Legislative Journal.
Mr. McCarthy has served on the
Executive Committee of the New
Jersey State Bar Association’s Young
Lawyer’s Division and as a member of
the New Jersey Defense Association’s
Committee on Public Entity
Liability. |
