Christopher M. Hemrick is an associate and
member of the firm’s Business Litigation and
Bankruptcy, Reorganization and Creditors’
Rights practice groups.
Mr. Hemrick's practice focuses on complex
commercial and federal litigation, including
bankruptcy litigation, as well as
representing both debtors and creditors in
bankruptcy proceedings venued throughout New
York, New Jersey and Delaware. He also
represents a variety of corporate and
individual clients in a wide-range of state
court litigation matters.
Among others, Mr. Hemrick’s commercial and
federal litigation and insolvency-related
experience has included the representation
of clients in matters ranging from breach of
contract, defamation and intellectual
property, to bankruptcy avoidance actions
and civil cases arising under the Racketeer
Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act
(RICO).
In addition, Mr.
Hemrick also
represents secured lenders in connection
with distressed commercial debt workouts and
related litigation,
and has developed significant experience
advising and representing the interests of
trade creditors and other unsecured
creditors and parties-in-interest throughout
all aspects of chapter 11 reorganizations
and structured liquidations.
In 2004, Mr. Hemrick received a B.A.,
magna cum laude, in Philosophy, Politics
and Law from Binghamton University, State
University of New York, where he was elected
into Phi Beta Kappa. He received his J.D.,
cum laude, in 2007 from St. John's
University School of Law, where he was a St.
Thomas More Scholar and an Articles Editor
for the St. John’s Law Review. While
in law school, he was also a member of the
school’s Securities Arbitration Clinic.
Mr. Hemrick was a summer associate at
Connell Foley in 2006.
