Charles J.
Harrington, III is a member of the firm’s Real Estate Law and Land Use practice group. He focuses the majority of his practice on real estate, which includes land use, development, permitting and approvals, redevelopment projects, construction financing, and all ancillary issues necessary for development. While he has been involved in development projects in various parts of New Jersey, he has focused most of his efforts over the past seven years to real estate and development on the Hudson County “Gold Coast.” In the last few years, Mr. Harrington has handled over 100 development applications before local planning and zoning boards, ranging from the development of a two-family house to numerous 300+ luxury residential developments. These approvals have accounted for over 5,000 residential units, as well as a substantial number of hotel and office developments.
Mr. Harrington has represented clients from the initial development stages, including numerous redevelopment projects, to completion of the project. This representation includes substantial interaction with various local, county and state representatives and agencies. Mr. Harrington has also assisted clients in related purchase/transactional matters; construction financing; formation and approval of condominium documents; obtaining tax abatements; and the sales of development projects.
Mr. Harrington has also counseled his clients with regard to condemnation and valuation issues.

Assisted in the
representation of the designated developer of
the first two phases of redevelopment of the
Long Branch, New Jersey waterfront;

Representation of
local and national developers with regard to
substantial and signature residential, hotel and
office projects along the Jersey City
waterfront, and other redevelopment areas in
Jersey City;

Representation of
developer in obtaining use and density variances
to convert existing industrial building to 95
residential units;
•
Represented local developers in obtaining property tax reduction of over $250,000.00.
